Stay South Wales (SSW) approached us to create a custom-built website that combines stunning aesthetics with seamless functionality, drawing inspiration from platforms like Airbnb. The website markets a range of properties across Cardiff, Port Talbot, and Newport, offering users an intuitive and visually engaging experience.
One of the key features is the ability for clients to search for properties, check availability, and make direct bookings without ever leaving the site. This was made possible through a custom integration with the Zeevou API, allowing the website to function as a direct booking channel, just like leading platforms in the market.
The website is packed with user-friendly and innovative features. Users can select a property and calculate journey times to local landmarks, attractions, and amenities. Alternatively, they can search for attractions, and the website will display nearby properties along with journey times for different modes of transport. A ‘save property’ function allows users to add or remove properties to their list with a simple heart symbol, enhancing ease of use and personalisation.
To further enhance the experience, we offer two tailored user journeys: one for business travelers and another for leisure visitors. Depending on the selection, the site presents a custom user experience to suit their preferences.
A standout feature is the map functionality. We built custom branded maps on top of OpenStreetMaps, providing a sleek, cohesive look for the web app. We also implemented local storage to save property availability data after the first search, significantly improving performance by minimizing network requests.
This project demonstrates our ability to deliver bespoke, high-quality development at an affordable rate. By not relying on frameworks or templates, we provided ultimate control and created a product that meets SSW’s exact needs, offering both an exceptional user experience and professional functionality.
